Scenario Details
APS Forward 2040 is a districtwide initiative to ensure APS schools and facilities align with the needs of students and families for decades to come. The plan addresses challenges such as overcrowded schools, underutilized campuses, aging facilities, and the need for equitable access to specialized academic programs. Its central purpose is to create stronger, more equitable schools and learning environments for every student.
These scenarios are not final and will continue to change based on public feedback. Community members are encouraged to plan now to attend one or more of the upcoming meetings — whether in-person, virtually, publicly, or in your community — to ask questions, provide feedback, and help shape the future of Atlanta Public Schools.

WT Jackson Scenario
Jackson will be consolidated onto Main campus, which is in very good condition and is designed for children this age. This option preserves the community with least cost and disruption.
If this scenario is approved, and Jackson families wanted to consolidate sooner, there is a possibility that Jackson could move to Main campus in the 2026-2027 school year, earlier than the projected timeline of 2027-2028. Share your feedback on this scenario at updates@wtjacksonproud.com.
Dedicated parents and community members have advocated for Jackson at several meetings with APS and city officials. Here is a helpful FAQ with all of the answers we currently have. This will be updated regularly.
